Curses, foiled again

Oh that First Amendment -- this story from Tennessee embarrassing both Church AND State since at least 1925:

A federal judge on Wednesday overturned a recent Rutherford County order that prevented Muslims from occupying the controversial mosque in Murfreesboro, letting local Muslims use the place of worship in time for Ramadan, the Muslim holy month.
The ruling by U.S. District Judge Todd Campbell gives the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro the right to complete its inspection process, thus reversing Rutherford County’s June injunction, which contended that county officials did not adequately notify the public about the mosque’s construction.

It should be noted that the federal court found that the argument about lack of notice was, to use a legal term, bullshit. And in a ever so surprising bit of news:
...opponents made clear in court hearings that they also opposed the practice of Islam.
And Tennessee is rife with these wonderful examples of intolerance (and thankfully some who are not). The Murfreesboro Mosque construction was protested with all manner of bigoted and ignorant rants and signs, and, of course, vandalism -- and followed the firebombing a mosque in nearby Columbia.

But I'm sure it is the fault of the non-Christians.
