Congratulations America!

You have now been in Afghanistan longer than the old Soviet Union was...and how'd that all work out in the end?

The aspirational deadline of 2014 means we'll aspirate and choke on it.

...and by an odd coincidence, 2014 is also the year that the oil pipeline through Afghanistan is supposed to be finished.

Luckily for us, the Taliban could NEVER figure out how to destroy an oil pipeline, so we can leave things in total security.

BAWAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!

It's soooooo enjoyable when America wins and we get the pleasure of watching the leftist defeatist morons writhe in agony !!!

.....which is always,,,,since America always wins eventually.

If I recall correctly, the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan created the context for their economic collapse.

Good 'ol U.S. of A. can support that at 90,000 troops at $1 Million per year per soldier indefinitely! At $90 Billion a year it's bargain!

That's a lot of opium, er, wampum. Think of it as a jobs program for military industrial socialists with itchy trigger fingers!

p.s. put into perspective, $90 Billion a year is only 10% of every dollar of income tax paid and collected. So you know your money's going to a hell of a good cause!

'leftist defeatist morons"...

Since Osama bin Laden's publicly asserted strategy is to defeat America by bankrupting her with endless military over-reaction, I'd have to conclude that the only defeatist moron is any idiot who is playing right into his hands.

The notion that we reality-based folks have America's best interests (and the best interests of our soldiers) at heart is inconceivable to this rube.

It's funny when people with a poor understanding of history try to weigh in on events they don't really understand. America may "win" in Afghanistan by whatever criteria the warmongers care to apply, but we're faced with the likelihood that it will be a Pyrrhic victory at best.

I went to a talk by Rick Steves recently. He noted that in the developing world, precious hours and calories are spent in the simple act of getting water. Water wells cost an average of $5k to $10k each. Wouldn't it be much more effective foreign policy if we chose to drill wells for villages and stick U.S. flags on them instead of bombing the brown people into insurgency?

We won! We won!

Um... what did we win, again?

I call fake OnAn. And BTW, the Red team had seven years in there, and handed over a steaming pile of FUBAR. The Red team's great at startin' 'em, but they can't win 'em.

This is what I was saying. The Soviet communist failure to win in Afghanistan is yet another loss for the devout leftist. America winning and thereby bringing freedom to another 25 million people makes the extreme Western leftard suffer greatly.

So to (roughly) summarize:

Soviets lose in Afghanistan, a loss that plays a large part in communist downfall. America and the freedom she stands for -- wins. Hundreds of millions of people gain their freedom.

America wins in Afghanistan (and Iraq), the freedom she stands for -- wins. Fifty million people gain freedom, with many more millions of people in the Middle East following that example.

Like I said earlier, it's enjoyable watching these leftist losers do what they do best, and they become ever the more shrill as America wins yet again.

Poor troll, suffering some shame so great that its only relief is to post its projective identifications here.

The real warmongers are those who want the terrorists to win.

Yes.
When it comes right down to it those that are apologist for the terrorists are actually enablers of a sort. These fuckers posture under the guise of peace whilst enabling the enemy. Their reprehensible behaviour can extend a war, thus the defeatist apologists are warmongers.

Somebody's going on a holiday shopping spree this year.

U.S. taxpayers spent $3,333 per Afghani this year on U.S. force deployment in their country. That's about 3x the GDP of Afghanistan. Or, over 9 years that's about $30k per man, woman and child.

Better them than us, right?

Party on!
