A former al-Qaeda member testified at a terrorism trial in New York that he left the group after it failed to pay for his pregnant wife’s medical care.

The reason that companies used to offer health care as an employment incentive was to attract and maintain a healthy, reasonably secure and loyal work force. Better for long-term viability, productivity and innovation.
