Whoopsie! (Or, Pinch FAIL)

On Saturday, I pointed The GC toward this totally data-free (and lovin' it) installment in the NYT's ongoing hand-wringing "Troubles for Democrats" series which focused on the special election in John Murtha's old district.

Well, lo and behold, the Democrat won the seat by a mere eight points.

The NYT sucks utterly.

P.S. On a semi-related note, what was all that crap about the Republican base being more energized and ready to turn out than the Democratic base? Take a look at the turnout in the two Kentucky primaries.

Yet another reason in a long, sad line of many, why I could care less about the so-called liberal New York Times. Liberal my ass; just more preening by the cosseted rich owners, tossing an occassional bone to "the underclasses". Stopped reading them years ago.

Amen to all, Res and StringonaStick.

I posted a version of this comment on another blog: If Rand Paul is elected to the Senate, his "take back our country" bullcrap will stop as soon as he shrivels in shock from the assault by special interests and as soon as he must raise money to keep his seat, which will be about 10 minutes after he's sworn in.

The turnout in Kentucky really is telling. Plus, I hear ole Rand wouldn't take Grayson's concession phone call? Not very pragmatic for a "common-sense" guy.

ShitonaStick makes a comment that actually applies for a change, but not in the way he probably thinks that it does.

The New York Times isn't anything close to what reasonable people would call "liberal". The Old Gray Whore is so far to the left of true liberalism that many might suspect the city room is actually in Beijing or Havana, and not in New York.

ShitonaStick...I'm easily among the most polite contributors here, if not the most polite."

why do they say the times is liberal?

....depends on who you're referring to as "they".

Anon @ 3:53,
I'll continue to be polite while commenting here, unlike some. For instance the Mr. Hedley Bowes guy actually wished an illness leading to a person's death. To a stranger on a comment blog! An astounding display of nastiness, doncha think?

......wishing death upon another vs playful rearranging of the nickname.... hmmmm

The New York Times is a good newspaper. I have a friend who has an NYT delivery route, and he brings me one of his extra papers a couple of times a week. It's very useful when I work on my cars; I spread a few sections underneath to catch oil, brake fluid and such, and it's quite absorbent. That's about all it's good for as far as I'm concerned; I'm not particularly interested in what my betters in NY are up to, or the standard corporate spin on the issues of the day.

There's nothing playful about you, OnA. Wishing for others to go fight your vanity wars is exponentially worse than the animosity we harbor toward you: a guileless coward who writes vitriolic garbage thinking himself so -brilliant- and -polite-.

Fuck off.

The NYT gives Krugman a platform.
Sometimes there is a wee bit of sparkle in the huge pile of sludge.

I had only mentioned my penchant for refined politeness and didn't really say anything about brilliance. But now that you mention it......

Some say that those that are very intelligent don't have need to inform others of an obvious -- and that probably explains you having brought the subject up without any mention of my own. Therefore there's no real need to mention that I score much closer to 200 than 100 on the Stanford-Binet.

I'm really good with a Standard Bidet too.

If there are scales on the Stanford Binet for cognitive self-delusion, Olives would certainly score in the top quartile (even allowing for the two standard deviations norm).
