Here's a thought

Nobody gets mining, drilling, or plant operating licenses anywhere until they prove they can deal with the worst case scenario, instead of simply doing nice pencil handwriting that can be easily traced in ink?

You know maybe that shit should get the same kind of inspection and review as say a dam?

Because if the latter were governed like the former, we'd be on our 9th version of Hoover Dam by now.

At the same time, as bad as this is, it's a hell of a lot different than not getting food, water and basic services to people who are suffering. People know how to do that, apparently nobody knows how to fix the DeepWater Horizon, meaning it should NEVER EVER HAVE FUCKING BEEN ALLOWED. That is on whoever the fuck approved it, not whoever is in charge now.

So this is a good counterweight to the frustration.

FINALLY - someone makes the most obvious and basic point about the precautionary principle and the police power. Congrats and thanks!
