Back

Hi. I was on vacation in the People's Republic of San Francisco.

This is the Tribute in Light. It was a memorial put up to mark the first anniversary of the September 11th attacks. It was supposed to be temporary, but New Yorkers really liked it, so it goes up every year for one night only.

It's a simple and elegant memorial that proves Mies van der Rhoe's aphorism about less being more.

It's also a testament to the total and miserable failures that are George W. Bush, George Tenent, Condoleeza Rice, and the rest of hapless hacks and mendacious wingnuts in the Bush administration that allowed 9/11 to happen on their pathetic watch.

I'm going to go out for a while and check it out.
