Competent about what?

Now granted, I'm a biased observer as I'm a solid liberal.

But other than winning elections, what has the Bush Administration seriously shown itself to even be suitably competent in?

Certainly, it hasn't been in war planning; it hasn't been in fiscal policy; it hasn't been in tax policy; it hasn't been in monetary policy; it hasn't been in foreign trade; and as is painfully aware they are a disaster in disaster policy.

Seriously, can anybody make an argument of general Bush Administration "competence" -- I'm not talking exceptional performance, just generally acceptable performance?
